In my experience it's a little bit of a perfect storm, it's the original message tied into the person being receptive to the message at that time... I've sent nothing messages and been successful, then sent well worded ones that fell flat

I check the profile first. If they are tall enough, I read the rest of the text and heck out the pics. This is before I've even looked at the message!

most of the women who've messaged me first, which isn't many, have just sent 'hi', I don't just use that though.
