Who actually looks after their tattoo's?

I see so many people that did have black tattoos that due to negligence are now grey and faded, sun is the worst thing for a tattoo.

I'm ginger, so I'm practically allergic to the sun anyway.

"Ink pain is addictive "

I disagree with that, the pain is fucking awful.

The after effect and the buzz when you see the finished thing is addictive, I could do without the pain

Didn't really hurt until 3/4hours had past then got sore, it was nearly unbearable at 6/7 hours worth the pain for Me tho hope you enjoy your ink and love what you get

The pain varies from person to person as no two persons pain thresholds are the same nor are our bodies when it comes to exact locations of nerve endings. Plus where you have it done is a deciding factor as well as how good the artist is.

Numbing cream like EMLA etc helps loads.

For a woman, it also depends on the time of month she has it done.

EMLA only really lasts for about half an hour. But realistically, tattoos just aren't that painful. Except on the bit under your forearm. Now that is painful. I always describe it to people as tattoos feeling 'sore'. Like someone was repeatedly rubbing a sunburnt bit of skin.

EMLA when applied and wrapped properly lasts much longer than 30 mins.

Also, saying tattoo's just arent that painful is ridiculous. You personally may have a high pain tolerance but like I said, everyone's different. To prove my point, I have my left arm fully sleeved right up to the arm pit. The part you mentioned I didn't even feel it, however across my wrist where the main artery is was the most excruciating pain out of the whole arm including the elbow, inner bicep and arm pit area.

Everyone reacts differently when getting tattoo's. What hurts for one, will not invariably hurt for another.

As an ex coach used to say: "It's only pain"...

Or

As one of my tattooists said, displaying his own unique brand of logic: "tattoos can't hurt that much or everybody would be walking around with just one tattoo..."
