"Fifty shades of Grey ? In your serious , most humble , highly informed opinion ?" ok im not talking the movie.. im not talking about the BDSM/ not BDSM content either.. the trilogy was well written from a psychology angle of why a man may have preferences the way he does and his journey with another character who also saw something in him, that others didnt get to see..typical novel romance stuff. imo it was curiosity to insight on how the other half might live and what happens to them ..it also fed into, the how a woman can change her man 'fantasy' through nurture and experiencing his 'world'.. my suggestion..whatever the absurdities..it hooked several fantasy and psychological elements and was well written from this view x

"The inner desire of most women to be sexually submissive to men maybethe gor books are for that Are they written by a woman though ?" no they are written by a professor of psychology..who has written proper papers.. his take on gender is fascinating..i loved all the books but he cuts out certain sociological barriers to making the slave girl /master totally credible..i was fascinated on how he dealt with these things..i felt it was important to explore these factors in myself, relating to the possibility or probability of a long term d/s relationship..did you need the gorean landscape, the protocol, the suppressed emotional expression of the male in order to make such relationships work..i would say they added to my internal journey x

" only if you will read the whole trilogy .or for the fantasy of it all..dont be looking for detailed accuracy..but ideas..yeah they are there....if you dont read it the silent bits in the film where the psychology is taking place, really wont make much sense..it was a shit film..far shittier if you cant see the under plot happening though..knowing the layers made it bearable..

Read the first two and really enjoy them but found the third lost it's way and seamed like a miss match of plots to try and fill it out a bit.

"A bit of titillation for middle aged women who probably hadnt talked about sex with their friends before. And whose husbands might of gota bit of a surprise" From the reaction of the women I know, and saw reading it on public transport,I'm going with this. They feel perverted reading top shelf stuff and this was acceptable and well publicised. There were already books similar that were not watered down for the more perverted women, but they weren't acceptable to sit next to Diary of a Wimpy Kid on the Asda book shelves.

"I read the first book out of curiosity when it first came out, I found it quite boring and a little disappointing as it didn't contain much sex that I had not heard of. I didn't understand why he lashed her backside with a belt at the end, I was told to read the other 2 books and I would understand, can't be bothered though. I think to a certain extent it sold due to "sheep syndrome" XXX XXXXXXX" I read book 1 because my daughter gave it to me. Book 2 I really struggled to finish. Book 3 I got through a few pages and gave up. The sex content bored me,I read to find out what made him like he was,but lost interest during book 2.

"Fifty shades of Grey ? In your serious , most humble , highly informed opinion ?" Because most humans are actually "human sheep" - the marketing people have known it for decades - clever advertising/publicity/marketing and the "human sheep" go crazy for it. Bit like Prosecco - not a particularly amazing drink but the "human sheep" (who also aspire to keep in with the trendy crowd)ensure its success. If you don't believe me just watch the next time some celebrity has a "different" haircut or tattoo - the "human sheep" follow suit - it's quite hilarious to observe.
