I am now starting my next sleeve. I have a massive piece on there right now that is far from great. It can not be covered since the lines are too thick. I am not sure if I should consult with an artist to find out what we can do, or start treatment. Anybody covered a large arm piece before? Could recommend a removal firm or what to do.

one of my arms is a cover up, the piece under was quite large and dark, what i was recomended to do was instead of having the whole lot removed to have it covered then just have the bits of the old one you can still see removed, its a lot quicker and cheaper

you can cover up dark tattoos, i was just told in order to get the best effect they have to be bright and busy to distract the eye

I was recomended something like a coy carp, japanese disigne as they are bring and loud, i didnt fancy something like that as im not really into colourful tattoos so i took the other option

but if your ok with bright and loud tattoos they should be about to cover it

tattoo removal is a slow and painful process though

A lot of people are having them blacked out then later having white patterns put into them

There is also a new cream in development that dissolves the ink somehow think its about 2 years away from launch

If it's thick and dark Id go with laser , lighting up and then you got more choice of what to have to cover it with

Why can't you tattoo white ink onto dark ink before you later it off ?

Guessing its the non sleeve on your left? Dont look too bad to cover. Depends what you want to have in its spot. A black out will cover anything... i have covered much worse.

they can be removed

i've had some work removed

it is painful though and it takes a long time, and it can leave some scaring

the bits i had removed took about a year over 8 sittings to completely remove

how long it takes and how many sittings obviously depend on how big it is but also on how old it is, plus some tattooist tattoo deeper than others
