If that were me I'd plan better or earn more. And sell assets if I was desperate, that's fairly easy to get by selling a few things. Or friends / family if I was desperate, I'm talking like rock bottom.

Picked up 3 days work next week for £800 a day, so probably not the person to help, but selling stuff is one option, change job another, renting out a room, dispatch riding.... kind of depends on the persons talents and marketable skills

Respectfully, you haven't indicated why it isn't an option. If her current education & work commitments don't allow for the time that's fair enough. Or, if she lives in the sticks and there isn't a town/city easily accessible by public transport then, fair enough. Or, maybe she has a medical condition that prevents her from working in any of the available jobs then, fair enough...

Respectfully it's none of your business. Why a job isn't an option is not relevant to the question. It's a related fact and that's all anyone needs to know.

I'm not asking for anyone, particularly anyone who doesn't know her, to assess whether it's reasonable that a job isn't an option.

See violating a scholarship or something then its gonna be minor thing underwear teaching etc, no sense risking things.

Benifit fraud may as well throw in some less legal stuff.

Violating a visa fuck it you're out if you're caught so may as well sell drugs

"Second job" in initial post.

The mention that she's not willing to take a job paid under the table either.

The fact she needs to raise relatively small extra amounts now and again.

I don't even know if full-time students can claim benefits. Either way she isn't.

I do have to cover my expenses from that, and have spent years learning the skills for no pay. If I worked it out to every hour spent it would probably be 50 pence an hour, but marketable skills are worth having when you need a cash injection.

Sorry yes OP's friend, only solution is to sell or better still rent stuff, be that possessions or skills. Hard to advise with no knowledge of your friend. They just need to appraise what they have others would pay for.
