My bloody GPs surgery

Somewhere in North Norfolk

They just texted me saying I have an appointment first thing in the morning.

I haven't made an appointment and they're closed, (obviously, at this time), so I can't tell them!

They've done this once before to drag me in for a pointless asthma check that I didn't want.

By all means write and invite me to make an appointment but don't just make one that might not be convenient, which I might not (don't) want, for me.

It might not be so annoying if I could get an appointment when I do want one!

"It might not be so annoying if I could get an appointment when I do want one!"

I think I'd need an ambulance for acute shock if my GP would see me within a fortnight, let alone providing one before I had to beg!

It's probably with a nurse but I don't know for sure, since I didn't make it.

Last time they did this they didn't tell me at all and then sent me a stroppy letter when I missed it!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

That's an unusual service.

Mine sends a letter if they think I should come in, unless one of my tests if off and then they phone.

I haven't had any tests so it can't be that.

I'm really annoyed. Last time they did this I told them not to do it again.

I'm tempted to just not go again, although I'd probably get the stroppy letter again.

Easter just around the corner!

What a strange and silly way for them to work,so they just expect people to turn up when they say?!

Yep. And they let them know too late to cancel, or not at all.

P.O. Box DE1 0NQ

Just phone them in the morning and say you have no knowledge of this appointment, then book one at your convenience

I am peed off.

It's way earlier than I would have made an appointment for too. It will be impossible to park there at that time, (and it's too far to be walkable).

It's first thing, almost as soon as they open.

I don't need to book one because I don't want one.

Titz Towers, North Notts

That's frustrating. Can you raffle the appointment off?

Can you complain? It seems a ridiculously stupid system. Call and ask them wtf the appointment is for as you didn't make it.

Yes, once they're open again.

Last time it happened I spoke to the receptionist to complain and say don't do it again. I'll speak to the practice manager this time.

"I don't need to book one because I don't want one."

They have no feasible comeback if you just choose to ignore it. The might be officious enough to try to give you grief for not attending, but for all the reasons you've stated, you're in the right.

Or just ask to speak the practice manager.
