I prefer a nice Linda McCartney mozzarella burger with a whole flat mushroom on it. Yum. I like quorn but probably wouldn't bbq it.

That's the only way I will eat bbq stuff - if it's veggie. Not necessarily Quorn, but anything except dead animals.

Surprised the op didn't know in advance that's what would be served up though

That is just wrong. If God didn't want us to eat animals he wouldn't of invented them

Quorn should just be sold as lumps of quorn I reckon, changing the shape of something to make it resemble something else does not make it that something else. Rolling a lump of quorn to the shape of a sausage does not make it a sausage.

My friend is veggie and often holds dinner parties where she cooks some dishes with quorn, sometimes they are better than the meat dishes. It doesn't have to be horrid, just needs the knowledge of how to use it.

What is a sausage then.

I've had pork sausage

Beef sausage

Turkey sausage

Veggie sausage

And unfortunately quoin sausage.

I thought the word sausage referred to its shape rather than its content.

Central

Quorn sometimes tastes good but convenience food is often not the best.

It's weird for someone to host an event with such limitations - maybe there was an offer on for bulk Quorn product. It's not my first choice Vege product.

Some of the Quorn stuff isn't bad, it's better than the cheap low quality meat products in supermarkets anyway.

I've kidded my family for a while with meat replacements they didn't have a clue till I said! It's what you do with it.

I will eat chicken now and then if I'm out and don't like the veggie option.

I'm not that keen on meat substitutes, I prefer to use veggies instead like portobello mushrooms for burgers & mixed veggie kebabs. Add in haloumi & a great dressing they're often more popular than the meat options
