Michael Cimino dead.

Sadly, Michael Cimino has died. His films Heaven's Gate and The Deer Hunter were out and out masterpieces. The great cinematographer of both movies, Vilmos Zsigmond, also passed away in January.

RIP gentlemen.

Yeah, loved that film, particularly the cinematography.

Robin Hardy, director of the Wicker Man, has also died.

I love that film - first saw it when I was 13 in the 1980s. Certainly had an impact .

I once saw Britt Ekland present an award at the Comedy Awards. Jonathan Ross said - "Bwitt, before you present it, I just want to say 'thanks' for helping me through those difficult teenage years".

I knew exactly what he meant (though it was actually a body double).
