Newcastle and Gateshead

stunned to hear she has passed away only 52 from cancer

brilliant writer (the royal family) and proformer (mrs merton and the fast show)...

i might be the only person to remember her from "remote control" with frank sidebottom and john thomson

So sad. A very clever, funny woman.

I think she had suffered for a long time with a string of health problems.

Rest In Peace

Sad news. RIP

I've often said on here "let's have a heated debate" - a wink of course to her famous Mrs Merton character.

Queen of Sheba is my most favourite piece of television. When Nana died and they played Sinead O'Connors version of Scarlett Ribbons, this will remain with me for ever.

She had suffered long enough

Cancer got a grip of her years ago and just wouldn't leave her be.

But still, taken way too soon.

Sad times x

It was shown just after my Nana died and I cried buckets. She had that rare gift to make me both laugh and cry. A wonderful talent and a sad loss. I will miss her very distinctive voice and her great writing.
