"I love my halogen oven because I am on my own and think its great for cooking for one - uses a third of the conventional oven wattage. It makes the most gorgeous tuna melts in an instant. Rib eye steaks and roast potatoes and veg all in one pot - brill!! Don't heat it up for ten mins though 5 will do xxx " Thanks for the tip on heating up time as I haven't had it long but allmy roast veg. have been fab

"ive seen those on the shopping chanels, so would u guys recommend em then? They look a bit of a faff to clean?? xxx" All I can say is full english breakfast. Sausages on the bottom, with mushrooms, low tray with tomatoes and blackpudden on it.High tray with bacon on it. Cooked altogether no turning no poking no touching. Watch and serve. Just the eggs on the stove. Fill the oven with soapy water and it cleans as you eat. rinse it out and dry. Now think grill pan and frying pan and another pan....

"everything have cooked in it haas been great and no need to preheat the oven. Drawbacks, I got a 12 litre version, far too big for single guy, and takes up a lot of counter space but hey ho I like it. Now all I need is to figure out how to work the prressure cooker - the instrucions are scary!! " im still using my good old fashioned prestige pressure cooker i had as a wedding present 37 years ago !! mind you its a bit like triggers broom !!!

"When I am on my own, I use the microwave combi oven instead of the big oven, along with the gas hob. " I have one of those too pearl but I find if I have something cooking in it conventionally and need the microwave function mid prep its a bit of a pain. I use my ovens when I am preparing for a hoard but for single dwellers and twosomes the halogen saves lots of money on fuel, which is a big incentive to use it.
