Torquay

The government has no control of prices charged by private companies....which Petrol retailers most certainly are.

The Government knows that if it freezes duty then all that will happen is that the companies will boost their prices anyway thus creating more tax revenue lol

So its a case of yes we are trying ta help you all by freezing duty but we will get the same tax back anyway

But blame the oil companies not us xx

1p is not going to make much difference if they are adding 5p at the station.

Or that they put on 3p at the beggining of the year when the VAT went up to 20%

I am glad at the moment that I can use normal fuel...

I miss my subaru... but right now I think I darent even look at the prices of the good fuel..

I just fill up my £20 a week at the moment.. but my lights coming on almost a full day earlier.. soon I will have to put more in.. I am getting fitter though as I leave car at home more often..

I think by Xmas we will see it at over £2 a litre.

East Grinstead

Got stuck in traffic due to accident on M25 on Wednesday, ironically in the 50mph safety zone due to road works.

No idea how many 1000's of cars affected, but with the amount of fuel wasted by people stop/starting/crawling it might be getting to the time where its cheaper to pre-position recovery/fast accident removal teams.

For many they are in catch-22 at present, they would love a car with better mpg, but these cost more to buy.

If we see Clarkson in a micro-diesel then we will know fuel costs far too much.

The world will have ended if that happens... ohhhhhhhh thats a painful thought.. I think 30mpg is good mpg though lol

Mr Osborne was on BBC breakfast news this morning he looked decidedly uncomfortable and finished up with his already irritating "putting the oil in the tank of Great Britain" spin again. Reminded me of Harold Wilson and the pound in your pocket all over again. But a bit more sinister.
