I think it's unfair to use the washing machine.

You should at least make it feel wanted.

When you moved into my first house I had a 5 yr old and a 5 month old baby. I didn't have a washing machine or a hoover,I washed by hand for 6 months and swept and scrubbed for 8 months. Fill your bath up and knock yourself out

I've been hand washing and going to the local lundrettee for the last twelve months but the pain n weakness I have in my arms is getting too much to carry the washing bag home now. So thought id get a washing machine. I was hoping it would actually work upon arrival but obv not! Fingers crossed on Fri the second new one to be delivered will be installed and be working. xxx

Local consumer services department at the council (if its not been cut) or citizens advice.

Look on places like Moneysupermarket.com for info too.

This should be covered via the sale of goods act.

Was it paid for via a Credit card? As there are mechanisms to claim the credit card company for the cash.

Get advice.

I'd have been extremely deflated if that happened to me. Nothing worse than getting something new and it's broken.

Phone them up, tell them that you'll be calling a laundry service in every day until the machine is working and they will be footing the bill.

If they dont pay it, small claims and then send the baliffs in for the CEO's desk, chair, pc and office fixtures and fittings...
