Being a movie 'buff' I put some brief film reviews on my profile. Am currently watching films that came out in 1976.

Sounds crazy but have been watching year by year from 1915 onwards. Several years later I am on 1976.

Just wondering if anybody else likes movies other than the xxx

Wow that's some dedication! I like my films but I'd rather leave my brain at the door and watch with popcorn as a release so I'm no connoisseur.

What are your faves so far?

Bar the odd one it's only old movies I watch. Got Roku at Xmas and it has popcorn channel and it's all movies from the 80's. Prefer the older films I used to watch with my granda tho x

Actually the 80's was a good decade just as it was for songs, if you like sci-fi that is. Totaling up the best year for me were 1969,1962,1959.

I do like the silent and black and white oldies (the movies that is!) and films of Frank Capra (who?) This coming from a Star Wars fan.

Have to say the 70s decade after Vietnam, Watergate, corporate mistrust and crime was a bleak period for films. Every year throws up excellent films but 70s had more than their fair share of poorer films.

The thing about him, as well as Chaplin and Keaton, is that I understood that they were clever, energetic agile, devil daring etc

Appreciated all that...they just weren't funny

Which is why I was a Laurel & Hardy fan

Second that, Laurel & Hardy are the greatest comedy pair ever. One or two Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd films are great. Never a Chaplin fan, but he was the first.

Yet to watch those 1976 movies but all are on my list. Can't wait for Network. Seen Rocky several times, seen Shootist also. Duke is a legend too.

And George Formby. But Norman Wisdom was a real legend. His Bulldog Breed and Early Bird films.

Just saw King Kong 1976. Not good. Anybody saw David Niven in Paper Tiger 1975? Now that's a fun and frightening family film.
