Just been onto my gym about the progress of cancelling my direct debit. They haven't got my details about stopping my membership. I have just stopped the payment.. But can they reset it up? Going to the gym tomorrow to get it sorted.

"Once it's cancelled they can't reinstate it"

But if you have signed a contract for minimum term and cancel it before that they can chase you for payment

Shropshire/Midlands

I would read the small print on your contact, as many may need notice for you to quit, like my does. Otherwise, just stopping the direct debit won't cancel the debt, they could pass it onto a recovering company!!

Haywards heath/Waterlooville

Normally you have a notice period. I would double check that before cancelling the DD.
