"Possible we could be free of Euro tariffs which in return will attract a good future And fair trading" you can't do that under wto rules..... if you were going to declare yourself as "tariff free zone" that would then apply to the entire world... it does have some advantanges in you are a complete service nation.... but for example.. manufacuring... you would absolutely wipe out the steel industry.....

Not quite correct Fabio. The whole EU is a 'Tariff Free Zone (internally) and is entirely within WTO rules. As it levies duties (and so has Tariffs) on imported goods from outside the Eu (like 10% on US goods) it is actually a Customs Union. But still OK under WTO rules. And while we are on the subject the WTO doesn't actually lay down Tariffs. It just guarantees equality and fairness amongst its members. And soon we will regain our independent seat at the WTO table rather than be 1/28th of the EU seat we now have. So as long as we apply the same Tariffs (or none) to every trading partner then that will be entirely within WTO rules. This also gives us a stronger hand when dealing with (say) underpiced Chinese steel. Had we been part of the WTO we could have forced China to stop the practice. being part of the EU we relied on them and they let us down. And THAT was why so many welsh people voted to Leave.... What goes round comes round. Personally I think this will be the Ace in our hand as we move out from the shadow of the EU. Would Germany REALLY say no to a UK free of import duties even if it meant we had duty free access to Germany? They wouldn't but the EU would and there is the disconnect." ...

" but that only applies under the terms of the Single market.... thats the Same "single market" leave want not part of... so everything you said after that is mute.... so you would probably have to again go down the norway or switzerland option of having to pay for access, comply with all the rules... accept freedom of movement... and accept all EU rules.... someone in the 28 is going to drag you over the coals over the "freedom of movement" thing......... so tell me again... exactly what did you just gain..... because that breaks every single thing the leave side campaigned for the last 3 months!

You are selectively quoting and moving the conversation away from your earlier point and my response. And then happily dismiss my main points! We were discussing tariff free zones and the WTO in which you made an incorrect statement. The WTO does NOT define Tariffs or duties it just ensures those that are established are a) equal and fair and b) are maintained. So our position under WTO rules is that the EU cannot 'punish' the UK or make us have exceptionally high rates of duties. we are entitled to fair and equal treatment. But as you have raised this issue (again) I was NOT suggesting we rejoin or that we would need access to 'The Single Market' like Norway or whoever else does. Our economic relationship with the EU is completely different and indeed unique. A bespoke deal will be agreed as its in the interests of countries like Germany to do so. Does the USA have access to the 'Single Market'? Yes it does. And does it have free movement of labour attached? No it doesn't. Does it pay for the membership? No it does not. So why would we? The UK is the EU's single biggest customer. We run a £61 Bn deficit with the EU (mainly Germany). That sets a different scenario completely to Norway which relies on the EU for 75% of its exports and makes a significant profit from it. So no one is dragging anyone over any coals at all. Here is a reality check Fabio: The UK FTSE fell and then recovered to about a 2.5% fall. The bourses in Frankfurt, Madrid and Paris are over 10% down and falling at close. The £ fell and then rose again as the spivs and banksters make their money. The Euro is seriously down and even the mighty Dollar and Dow have taken a hit. The money people are hitting the EU harder than the UK.... What did we gain? Our freedom to be the country we wish to be. Our ability to create the regulations WE deem necessary. Our freedom to trade as we choose with those who wish to trade with us on mutually agreeable terms not those defined by Brussels. And most importantly we have gained control of our borders, security migration policies. Anyone who underestimates what the UK can achieve is making a very big mistake...
