Because it's not an 'independence day'. We've not boldly thrown off evil rulers, we've turned our backs on cooperating with Europe.

What's done is done. There's nothing that can me done.

What needs to happen now it's for the leavers to stop gloating and the remainers to stop feeling down.

Let's just work together and get through this....

Or we could move to Canada

I think leavers are going to be disappointed in the long run.

This isn't going to bring immigration down. It's not going to mean the government builds more hospitals, or invests in poorer areas of the country.

Well we're out a date seems like Scotland, northern ireland and Wales will now seek to haven there independence. A once great nation rule half the world . To now being the mockery of the planet. Scotland voted no on independence because it wanted to sty in the European union only for that vote to take us out of it . My hats I the ring for the next kind of Scotland every independent country needs a monarchy lol

Nothing at all stopping us co-operating with Europe. Or trading with them on good terms. But we will no longer have 60% of our laws and regulations made in Brussels (that is the official figure in parliamentary archives, as admitted by the remain campaign).

Some jumpy said we can't be in the Euros or the Eurovision now..... Bollocks! We were in both before we joined!

This was just another scare lie put about by remain campaign. It is in treaties that any country leaving...their citizens already living in EU, and any EU citizens living here....keep their status and rights to stay!

im totally shocked at the result, as I thought we would end up staying in, because people like to keep to what they know, but hey, it's a new beginning for the UK. Of course, there's uncertainly, because there's the fear of the Unknown, but we will come out of it - we're the 5th biggest economy in the world and will have a strong position - We now have the power to negotiate with the rest of the world. We still have the British commonwealth; we could have free movement to countries to Australia! Me, being an Aussie will hope this happens now, and not treated as an illegal alien each time I come back into this country, even though I have the right to abode!!

I am shocked and scared by the result. Why cut ourselves off ? The tories love cutting services, benefits for disabled, punishing the poor. Without the EU overseeing things, it's gonna get ridiculous. It's OK for the rich folk.

No more subsidies for farmers from the EU. Guess I don't mind the pint going up and cheese, yoghurts, and meat.

Best get myself a smallholding!!!

Our mps can now do what they want without any meddling from the EU. Including this: There are already moves among the 450 or so MPs who want to stay in the EU, across the Labour, Conservative, SNP, Plaid Cymru and Green parties, to keep the UK in the single market in any exit negotiations.

This would mean Britain would have to keep its borders open to EU workers and continue paying into EU coffers.

They say it would be legitimate for MPs to do this because the Leave campaign has refused to spell out what trading relationship it wants the UK to have with the EU in the future - and it would demonstrate the sovereignty of Parliament the Leavers were so keen to restore.

From the BBC website. I didn't post a link because it's in a long Brexit information page.
