"Those that label anyone who has concerns about the unlimited movement of people through the Eurozone and the impact that might, or might not, have on resources such as housing, schooling, health etc as racists, or those those that welcome it as 'liberal do-gooders'. Sadly it seems you're labelled either a right wing Neo-Nazi or left wing PC lentil-muncher depending on your views and there doesn't seem to be much room for a reasoned adult discussion / debate in the centre " This A mate of mine posted a picture on FB yesterday basically implying that anyone who wants to leave the EU is a neanderthal and racist. Its just the same metropolitan elite claptrap virtue signalling we've had out of the kensington liberal party for the last 15 years+. I mean take the refugee crisis. We could help so many more people by stepping in and actually stabilizing syria. Not easy to do, at all, but significantly more efficient. According to some figures we could help around 17 people for every one we help in the UK for very similar costs. But if we did that, well Goldsmiths students couldnt stand at St Pancreas with big signs showing us all just how englightened and virtuous they are. And then how would we know that they are just more special than the rest of us?!? Cant have that. Personally, im a marginal remain voter. Dont especially care for the EU at all, but i think despite both sides making fairly piss poor arguments my own understanding of the issues tend to marginally favour remaining. But personally i find both sides about equally distasteful. Be it the NF types on the leave side, or the upper crust liberal do-gooders who just want to make themselves feel better (and of course enrich their companies and ensure they can have a cheap cleaner, cant start paying a living wage now can we? Not when theres a continent half full of cheap labour available) | |||
