When I used to play Rio (On vinyl) over and over in my bedroom as a child, my Mum used to call 'em Drone Drone!

Had the fortune to be in a hotel in Birmingham one night about 28 years ago with a mate when these guys and Limal from Kajagoogoo walked in. They sat at the next bank of table to us and were very frendly and chatty. Simon was already with Yasmin by then.

When it was time for non residents to leave they said we were with them so we could stay longer. What a night!

When we left at about 3am and there were loads of teenagers outside waiting for them and they asked us if we'd seen them! You should have seen their faces when we told them that Simon Le Bon had bought us a drink!

Have to say I always had a soft spot for Andy though

Weren't we jus! They just asked us not to take any pics as it was their chill out time and they didn't want pics in the sunday papers which is understandable. Limal was a short arse in a string vest though. Seeing him on lets dance for comic relief brought back the memories lol

Only ever liked a few of their singles and never bought any.

I remember when they started out.

I used to go to a place called "snobs" in brum and they used to play there. Prior to becomming famous.

Mind...

I do like simon with his new goatie
