Grocery shopping online..

Im considering attempting it.. not because of laziness and the fact its a 45min drive to the nearest Tesco or Asda, but because i have crap will power and cant stick to a shopping list also i will therefore not be drawn in to the fresh cream cake counter thingy.

Is it easy to use or just a complicated time consuming tick box process? HELP

i use asda online and i only live 5 mins from asda,its so easy and u can save your shopping lists etc

The Tesco one is the one I used the most in the past, and found it very easy to use.

Good thing about shopping online, you don't have in-store goodies from the bakery to tempt you!

They are great for bulky items, like wine/beer/detergents etc...

Go for it!

I do mine online every week! Fantastic invention as I don't drive and they can cart my heavy stuff direct to my door, the first shop can be long and tedious but then saves everything to favourites, so the next is so easy and quick!!

We use ASDA and it's suprising how often they send a few things that you hadn't even ordered -it's great, we once got 10 tins of ravioli (we don't even eat the stuff), tins of carrots, Lurpak spreadable butter ..... and more

And if they forget something all you do is call the number, tell them what is missing and you get a refund, and if you are an awkward fuckwit like me, you can usually get the delivery charge refunded as well

Don't think Asda in Newton Abbot come out as far as Dartmouth either

as an ex merchandiser beware of short dated goods, shopping yourself you obviously choose items with a long shelf life, the store staff may not do this so beware. Hope this helps

Thats another reason i drive a small car, got Little ones, her pushchair in the boot (and thats all i can fit in there) and Asda do awesome deals on Nappies when you buy them in bulk (2 boxes for £18) but when i stock up on baby things, i cant do much actual food shopping because of lack of car space.. Plus frozen would defrost a little in the hour it would take to get home.

Asda pickers are trained to pick the longest date item on the shelf, if that proves to be really short like the next day they are then required to check out the back....I know because I had this conversation with my local Asda customer service manager.....after getting three cartons of cream delivered with that same day as the sell by.

No it doeasn't! Still get the savings...and the special offers, asda are good for that, yes sometimes you get a shite sell by date, but I've been doing it for years, and not too many co*k ups lol

I used to shop at Sainsbury's but the save everything you buy so you tend to just tick everything, and spend a fortune!

I now use Tesco, but I used Asda last week for the first time and will again: booking the 10pm slot. Driver was too lazy to take back shopping he didn't deliver so ended up with two trays of diced turkey, cauliflower, broccoli, sausage rolls, two bags of potatoe wedges and 24 sausage rolls.

Phoned Asda they said they'd contact the driver...still waiting!

When i first started using online shopping i used asda but if anything went wrong i found their customer service was crap.

I changed to tesco and have never had a problem, even when we had the bad weather.

In fact, on one occasion i had some bacardi with the security tag on, i could have sent it back but needed it for that night and had to smash the top off.

I emailed tesco and they were brilliant and refunded my entire shop of £87.59p

To say sorry.

I was well impressed

And no temptations doing it online. I stick to my shopping list.

And you know straight away how much its gonna cost.

Plus the teco clubcard points when saved give you a good free shop

I'm a Tesco user, but occasionally I treat myself and use Waitrose / Ocado... I've got an app I can use for my phone which means I can add things to my list even if I'm at work or sat in a traffic jam, etc...

Ocado/ Waitrose are fantastic. Not really any dearer, either. They price match Tesco and are always sending me 20% off my shopping codes.

Sainsburys is the next best.

Around here Tesco and Asda are equally pants. Missed items/ incorrect items and bizarre substitutes. Poor service when on phone as well (jmo)

If you shop online you can check out which supermarket has the best prices for your whole shop and get them delivered from each one. Fuel is so expensive now you can afford to do it. If you choose cheaper delivery times from their calendars it doesnt have to be an additional cost on top of groceries. I find household cleaners etc to be cheaper at Asda but I like the dairy and deli from Sainsburys and their cleaning products are sky high. so I online shop between the two of them. I like Morrisons the best but they don't do delivery around here. I like their meat.

I used to laugh at the substitutions in the past: they've got better now: lemon washing up liquid in lieu of lemons etc: bless em!

Use Tesco, then claim back 80% of your shop on the double the difference scheme You'd think if they were offering that they'd make sure their prices were not double the price of Asda's

I tried Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury and concluded Asda were the best of them.

In a couple of years I've not had any missing stuff or substituted items.

The only time it went wrong was when the delivery guy dropped a bottle of wine in the street but a replacement arrived a couple of hours later.

We do most of our main shop using Tesco online. We've found it easy to use especially certain features, (favourites, save and return later to add more, offers, etc). I found it a little daunting to start with but then I found posting here a little daunting at first too LOL

Dont use online shopping myself

Basically because i work for asda so get a staff discount card which you cant use online, so if i used online shopping id have to pay full price

I log onto mysupermarket.co.uk and then put in my shopping list. It then compares my list with Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys and Ocado (Waitrose) and tells me who is the cheapest. Also gives you cheaper alternatives of any item on your list.

Once you have chosen your preferred supplier, it asks you to confirm you want to go ahead with the order and then sends it to the supermarket online site. You then go through the usual checkout procedure. It's interesting to see how much you can save - I saved £16 on one shop just be changing some of the items I had ordered.

Well since Asda didnt do home delivery (love livin so far from anywhere decent)ventured there this morning and spent a damm fortune.. MEH

Got sucked into buying my daughter loads of things for the garden (her first year where she is walking and playing)so got carried away on toys..

Will be worth it though
