I normally use google operating system and another appears on desktop which I think is microsoft edge for some reason I cannot get those short videos to play I think they may be something to do with you tube, like the other day I wanted to see how to put up a poly tunnel and just now I wanted to listen to the elizabethan seranade it did play on edge but no video on google nothing, just comes up with a message saying error try again in 30 mins but has not worked for weeks, it may not have worked since I changed to windows 10 a few months ago. Any ideas?

Try using another browsers. Edge doesn't support java and that's more than likely the problem. That being said if you are on YouTube it's more likely to be a you tube issue rather than a browser one.

Thanks for that when you mentioned java I looked that up and it said its something to do with juckexe that has been springing up for ages saying do you want to allow it to make changes so I clicked on it to do so now everything seems to be working fine

It's always worth checking your flash player, in case your browser uses that for video, instead of html5. Check update regularly in settings, to keep it updated.
