I have a friend with a static caravan there. She loves it. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

From the pics I have seen, it's a stunning place.

Hope the weather is kind to you

Plymouth and Newcastle (sometimes)

"Is that where they do the big crosser race ?"

No...That's at Western Super Mud (Mare really)

Woolacombe is very small but amazing beach and surf if conditions are good. Exmoor is short drive and Barnstable is a nice little town for the day.

It's great. Good for surfing, and if waves are shit then either Saunton or Croyde next door will have them.

Food in the red barn is always a bit lame, but there is a hidden bay up on the right of the beach that has a Sri Lankan curry hut.

Enjoy!

Check out The Red Barn for food

The Shell beach is nice....

I went Coasteering around there a few years back..great fun

For surfing go to Croyde just round the bay...

if you surf Woolacombe there is a really bad rip there so be careful and just stick to the Grockle flags n you will be ok

also visit Saunton beach... It's fantastic...AND loads of dunes to 'play' in if you are careful...

One of the Pink Floyd album covers (the one with the hundreds of hospital beds) was done there...

Have fun... Devon is fantastic

/Tripadvisor lol

I'm going to have to keep more of an eye on those dunes now!

As above, 3 great wide sandy beaches at Croyde, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe all within a short distance of each other, all popular with surfers.

Personally, Croyde is my fave but Woolacombe is nice and the town has plenty of amenities.

Have fun, hope the weather holds out for you!

Northampton

Lovely beach perfect for surfing but also try Croyde and Putsborough.

You will find that the tide does go out a long way on Woolacombe.

Have a great time.

derby

yes spent most of the seventies going down to devon, dorset, and cornwall on holiday with parents creamed teas, clotted cream and jam scones, thatched cottages and small country lanes, devon, dorset, and cornwall we traveled through them all, picture postcards and memories now but these were some of the first places I saw countryside that was beautiful and unique in its own right enjoyed catching mackeral from a boat with my dad to many times
