Many years ago at the wake after my Grandfather's funeral, there was a giant trifle...

It was a thing of beauty, made by a family friend that was a chef.

After the first mouth watering spoonful, I told everyone that it was disgusting.

When everyone had left, the trifle was sitting there untouched except from the portion I had taken...

It took me two days to eat it...

Can't believe everyone fell for, especially as they knew what a great chef our friend is...

Ahhhhhhhhh I don't put custard in mine and if ever I do its a creamy thin layer.... cant' stand it when custard is hard n cold............ VILE !

I've had trifle too. Sadly not homemade. My nan used to make lovely trifle with custard and dream topping.

Them were the days. She used to make her own custard slices too.

My hips never stood a chance really...
