Forgive me but I am about to name drop. At the function Ronaldo was at ( see above ) so was his Majestically Highness Sir Alex Ferguson. I was with his magnificence for an hour and being a life long Manchester United fan ( from the republic of Mancunia) I asked him who he thought was the greatest player ever. Without hesitation he said Pele. I am a believer in George Best but no matter. We went on to the subject of Ronaldo or Messi. SAF said in his opinion Ronaldo could perform on a wet Wednesday in Doncaster as well as the world stage ( tonight excepted of course!!!) He thought Messi would struggle with the Premiership and I have to agree.

However Messi was being interviewed for Spanish TV and he was played a recording of Ronaldo saying that his gift to play the beautiful game was god given and without the help guidance and inspiration of god he would not be as good as he is. When the recording stopped Messi paused and said I cannot remember saying that to him.

I used to play in the Manchester Sunday League which was not for the faint hearted but it was still a beautiful game that continues to enthral!

After the unpleasant comments about the Iceland team, by Rinaldo, I hope Austria win. The man is a class "A" a** hole.That is right, he wasn't nice with the comments he did. They described it as 'small mentality', he didn't shake hands or swap shirts after the game. "
