Don't bother with my father and I'm really pissed off with the amount of advertising this day had had in the run up and putting the adverts on Nickelodeon and tiny pop kids tv channels. Something beyond my control happened a couple of months back which means I have had to cut all the paternal family out of my daughters life including her father, so all this Father's Day bull shit on the adverts especially kids tv, shouldn't be on. Statistically there's more children without fathers than mothers but also Mother's Day shouldn't be publicised on kids channels. Keep it to within the breaks for the soaps or a 7pm watershed cos I've had my child in tears asking where she's going to send her card to and when she will see her dad all off the back of these adverts.

I'm really sorry for the troubles you have been having on your life but that doesn't mean other people have to stop celebrating anything.

I'm sorry that your daughter has lost her contact with her father but as her mother yoi know what is best for her and when she grows up she will understand that. There are some amazing single mums on here (thinking of cute right now) who are bringing up strong independent and unique children without the aid of a father. Whilst her tears are hard for you to see and probably break your heart be strong in the fact that you know it's for the best and use this day to celebrate the fact that you are pulling a double Shift.

That's true

My kids have had very little contact with their dad, his choice I've never stopped him seeing them, when we split up he not only left me he left his kids as well, to him his new women and her kids where his family now and he totally ignored his kids

I did the best I could to bring them up alone with not even any financial help from their dad, my eldest daughter has 18 months left doing a veterinary digree, my middle daugher is a student nurse doing pediactric nursing my youngest daughter is 15 so still at school, I couldn't be prouder of them and when I look at them I think I did that, I bought them up all in my own and they have turned out great so fuck it a big pat on the back for me too

But saying that I have no problem with father's day there are some good dads out there let then have their day

*hurls @ idea of eating a heart*

from what little i know of your dad i know he's a bloomin legend!

Men in my life havent stuck around, but im greatful to all of them who have been a part of my life..

My biological dad created me..

My step dad (age 3-15) raised me..

My mums partner (16 - now) has been an emotional rock and helped me grow as a woman and been a brilliant influence on Amber.

My childs dad gave me the best gift of all and although he could have done A LOT more.. he gave me reason to live and love 3

I do look from a distance and envy your relationship with your dad.. but my life is what it is and i could have been worse off :D

Watching beauty and the beast with the two miniature chicken pox infested terrorists.

Very pleased they had the thought of buying me an engraved single barrelled bottle of Jack Daniels. How thoughtful even though I did buy it myself.

They preferred the bubble wrap.

No contact with my biological father as he was a violent bellend and we had restraining orders in place through early childhood.

My step-dad passed away in 2012.

Waiting for my little ones to come back from their dad. The youngest made a card in nursery and my eldest (6) in School wrote a few words for his dad underneath a picture, was lovely, and the School laminated it. He has also has two boxes of his fave sweets, a "101 Gangster films to watch before you die" book and another card by way of gifts.

Comedy of error's today.I let my dads balloon off at lunchtime and up up and away it soared into the sky.

Now Mark's turn , he let his dad's balloon go and it flew straight into the fence of the Primary school field at the back of our house, but onto the field side. I told him he would have to retrieve it as some young Kid tomorrow would probably get pissed on Captain Morgan's Rum. so he climbed the fence got the balloon , but coming back got caught on the barbed wire.I had to phone my son to come and help him down. Next door neighbour's were pissing themselves laughing and now I have a rather sheepish looking hubby with holes in his Favourite AC/DC shirt ()

My dad past away nine years ago,he was always a very strict man,i think a lot if it was due to the job he did,we were always frightened of him as children,as his word was law. When he became ill he became a lovely easy going kind man,a totally different man to the one i knew, but the last three years were the happiest i had ever known with him,i miss him every day.
