My 24 is also 3 different countries too. I moved a lot as a kid, because my dad always got bored in his job. Then I went to 4 different universities. So moved a lot as a student. Then I married someone with itchy feet too.

I think, possibly, we may stay put now. We like it here.

Did you like moving as a kid?

I have a friend whose dad was in the army and she hated all the moving. She said it really affected her confidence.

I like the 'new beginning' feeling of moving but all the packing and unpacking does my head in.

I I only really moved three times as a kid that I was old enough to remember. The first was age 4 so I didn't exactly have "mates" I was leaving behind.

The second time I was 8 and had really struggled to make friends in school so when we moved I was relieved to be in a school where I got on with loads of kids. I went from being the odd kid no one would play with to the most popular girl in the class?! We moved again and I was excited as moving had been fun the last time.

But I was back to somewhere I didn't fit in. And I struggled until I left for uni.

After that I loved moving constantly as a way to reinvent myself. I never really got the hang of making many friends (I'm a bit aspie) so I would become anti-social and it was always a relief to move away.

But I'm trying harder here because we're staying.

For a typical kid I imagine it must be really hard to move a lot as a child. We have (school age) kids now and moved with them recently and they both took it really hard. So we're not moving again.
