Way too many to narrow it down to just one.

I really liked Simple Minds early stuff. Van Halen was great. The Cars had some great albums. Rush had a lot of great 80s albums, "Moving Pictures" in particular.

There was tons of great 80s Pop, too. Geez....Micheal Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Depeche Mode, Weird Al Yankovic....

If memory serves correct, he became really popular after "Eat It".

Another One Rides The Bus is hands down, the best song ever recorded!!

He only became well-known in the UK after 'Jurassic Park' was the most played music video on The Box - which is how I first heard of him.

Though even that was mid-90's.

I often forget that artists aren't universally popular worldwide!

Weird Al scored a huge hit here in the states with 'Eat It' in '84. That's when most people over here discovered him.

We live in a section of Pennsylvania that is littered with UK names: Lancaster, York, Carlisle, Reading....

Along the same lines, I have always been told that certain parts of Europe have a much bigger rock/metal scene than the U$A.

Kraftwerk, afrika bambatta and the soul sonic force, grand master flash, man parish, the world class wreckin crew, herbie Hancock, Alexander O'Neil, omar, crikey I can go on and on.

But basically anything hip hop, rap,breakin, jazz funk, soul /funk, electro.

And some pop also.

Omd, human league, inxs, yazoo, Gary numan and as a complete contrast had a massive thing for Bruce Springsteen.

Duran Duran. Saw them in Southampton in 81 and they are still going. Also still listen to Howard Jones , Hide and Seek is probably the best song from that period. And let's not forget Alison Moyet !
