I was once at a job had to run cables through the loft. and god I nearly feel through to the bedroom below the owners cat was in the loft. and I just cought sight of it in the corner. when I said to the woman about a cat in her loft she just said yes it's ours. it goes up through a hole in cuboard where old heating system was and the vent went up.

absolutely

and set some mouse traps

if they are up their and chew through some electrical cables you will have a problem and also the possibility of a fire

you can get traps from B&Q and most supermarkets, and if you genuinely hear noises like rustling, scraping then you need to look into this.
