The exact statement by CPS is "insufficient evidence " ie: not enough in their eyes to get a conviction.

It's actually pretty obvious..... We tend to point 1 finger when 3 others are pointing back. Most accusers do it as smoke screen.

He has succeeded where otherwise have tried and haven't. ..what I mean by that is he's succeeded against the normal assumed way of doing it...without dirt, stain, sucking up, bribery or corruption, sleeping around...the list goes on. It's not as if people (haters) haven't tried yet all the accusations over the years have never stuck....people will still continue to 'flung dung' at him.

I have a respect for this guy...he's different....maybe that's why he still has haters. I think his consistancy is admirable. ..rarely seem today.

Disagree....only in the minds of the haters. The truth doesn't need to prove itself...ItIis what it is. It's the minds of doubters that need the change...maybe the word doubter has a bigger association on the one doubting than they care to imagine.

I always said that it was a joke the way he was vilified in the press a dthe fact that the police raided his home without him even being there and to have hellicopters and the press there as well.

I was utterly discusted by the way they did the whole thing, and his acusers will be protected.

Juts the same as happened to Paul gambocini 'not sure about the spelling there' ruined his life because it only takes 1 person to acuse you and 1 to back them up, in gambos case the other person retracted the backup story because he did not actually know at the time.

A complaint was made the police investigated that complaint and sent all the evidence to the CPS who re_iewed all the information and in the opinion of a legally trained person there was reasonable doubt that a conviction could be upheld.

That is our system and as far as this case is concerned Mr Webb is innocent.

I wish in his statement he'd made some sort of comment supporting real victims of abuse.

Most are far too traumatised to come forward, and false accusations just make their stories even less likely to be believed.

There is no way that anyone accusing someone should be made to have their name made public. It could deter some from reporting such crimes.

I do, however, have serious concerns about the name of anyone being accused of rape or other serious sexual offenses being made public before trial. I know that there is the argument that knowing accusations against an individual may mean more victims come forward, but it could also just encourage band wagon jumpers.

If I was falsely accused of a serious offence, I would not be happy about my name being made public. Mud sticks after all, no smoke without fire people think...

Why start another rumour Maybe there actually weren't any in this case....so on that note...actually Cliff was mentioned. ..He is the victim of false allegations. ..yet again.

I do blame some of it on our claim culture too....lets get on the band wagon and make some claims. It's so unfortunate because it also gives those genuine victims suspicion in the eyes of onlookers too when they make legitimate allegations.

Does that make him gay? I've a few very close male friends. ..One I'd call a soul mate....but never crossed my mind that I'm attracted physically at all. I'm 100 straight and so is he. One can have a brotherly friendship with someone with out being called gay. I'm aghast at the way some bi/gay men on here do _iew that though....its as if they need affirmation themselves on the issue. ..a lack of sexual understanding of themselves maybe.

As said above in this country he is innocent until proven guilty.

No I don't think he is innocent. Ok let me put it another way. I know he isn't. End of.

If you actually know, report it.

However if your evidence is merely that you've listened to what someone has told you, then you know about as much as everyone else and it's merely conjecture on your part.

Even when he dies how will you know people are telling the truth about him though, i mean they could be telling their story just to make money or for the attention.

I am perfectly fine with my statement. I don't need to defend it at all. As you are all entitled to yours. It makes little difference as a case has not been brought to court. Doesn't change what I have said . That's the beauty of living in a free country!

You too busy watching big brother to find out the evidence before posting such shite?

Their was obviously insufficient evidence to prosecute but all his woes didn't start with some woman going to newspaper

...and 'insufficient' doesn't equal 'no evidence'. It simply means insufficient to have a chance of a successful prosecution.

Unfortunately much evidence has been conveniently 'lost' and covered up or removed when the Saville case came up. The man isn't stupid even if his music is diabolical! Best he stay in Barbados though!
