What would you consider the worst-simplest operation you could have?

I have to go in next saturday morning to have a tiny cyst removed from the tip of my tongue.

Stupidly I bit the end of it on Xmas Day lunch and caused it to bleed, the result is a small cyst, really small. They have decided to exise it for me and put in a couple of stiches.

How much is that going to interfere with sex for a while? no woman is going to like oral when you are tickling her with a couple of sutures.

i remember having my wisdom teeth out

I had to go into hospital to have them removed as they hadnt come thro properly yet

what they did was smash the teeth up inside my gums and suck the bits out

fook me i looked like id been beat up the next day, the pain was so bad i felt like head banging the wall just to distract me from the pain lol

so for me it was my wisdom teeth

I'd argue having it taken from your sternum is even worse.

It's hard to avoid looking and impossible to push against it. Then there's the noise when the bone cracks

Having my root canal done. The dentist didn't give me enough anaesthetic... as he pulled the raw nerve out with tweasers I nearly jumped straight off the chair and through the ceiling, it's just lucky for him his bollocks weren't within my reach, I've never felt acute pain like it.

Never had to try that- the hip was bad enough.....the cracking noise is probably much the same though.....

I think the worst-simplest operations I had was having a picc line and then a central line put in, not painful procedures in themselves but I was always scared of pulling them out in my sleep.

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

Recently had two gastopocies and a colonoscopy. I was heaving when I had to bite on the tooth protector. Worst part was putting a line in to administer the medication ... 8 attempts to get one line in!!!!!

Monday I'm going to have my insides pumped with gas and moved around whilst I have my tubes flushed with dye to see if they're blocked. Afterwards i'm assured i'll feel like i've been beaten up by Mike Tyson.

There's no life & death reason for this, and it's something i've wanted to be done for a long time but now it's near, i'm shitting a brick. There's no pleasing some people is there?

Woke up after my third caesarian - which was an emergency one to find I had a central line inserted. Scared me to death...couldn't fathom why they needed to put a catheter in my jugular!

I was scared to move!

i had a biopsy taken from my uterus with no anasthetic ...the doctor said it might hurt and ive got a very high pain threshold but i had to scream very loud !!!!!!nearly passed out with the pain ...

Two doctors proding and poking without anaesthetic couldn't get the hysteroscope in place, apparently my uterus is retroverted. I've never seen so much blood by the time those two had finished - they gave up.

So...I'm waiting for them to try for the third time...the human body is amazing to withstand such pain and not pass out!

thats what i had ...couldnt remeber the name !!! im retroverted too ,so maybe thats why its was F**king painful and why dont they sedate you i ant understand that........ but the lovely doctor told me after wards "you dont look post menopausal inside or out " so i forgave him a little

i had to have a camera up my nose and had an anesthetic spray...he kept hitting a nerve tying to get it in...agony!

sent me away and had to go back the next week to try again...worse this time every time it hit a nerve i jumped...went all clammy and dizzy. Then was told it would have to be done under anesthetic....when i came round they said no wonder it hurt i had tiny passages lol

Removal of an epidydimal cyst last month. op went ok but then i had an Heamatoma and i had to carry my balls around in a wheelbarrow..Embarrasing, awkward and fucking painful. to top it all, because i was moving differently than normal,all the muscles in my back have gone into spasm.

on the plus side i'm on codeine,diclofenac and diazapam for it

When they sedate you it increases the risk of a perforated bowel: I get a lot of clinical negligence claims for that. Sadly you sign a waiver saying you understand the risk implication!

Had mine in for about ten months, chemo bloods and IV antibiotics all done through the tubes..... used to tuck them into one of my children's tiny baby scratch mittens then into my bra. Discovered the chemo nurses told a few people to use a baby-mitten after that.

wasnt really the op that hurt didnt feel a thing being asleep lol but when it came to having the metals pins removed from my toes with a pair of pliers while fully awake now that did flipping hurt

my friend lost her life with a perforated bowel 6 weeks after having IVF triplets ...good luck iwth your third attempt sassy im glad i wont have to have it done again !!!

had a cyst drained from inside my spinal cord when i was about 21... op was in my neck area and told if it went wrong would be paralised. was a major op had over 14 stiches and half my head shaved, and couldnt move my neck properly for over 3 months....... my family found a new nic name for me, and thought zippy sounded pretty good lol

Was topped and tailed at the same time but so glad they knocked me out for that but have had a tickly cough ever since - years

Worst was cortisone injections in my foot as they move the needle hunting for the pained area's, last one was a bitch as the needle was inserted under the big toe and pushed down the sole of the foot ( never again lol)

A laparoscopic cholecystectomy

Actually it wasnt that bad at all, but its the only operation I have apart from the caesareans. The title of the op sounds more painful to be honest - in laymans terms its gallbladder removal by keyhole surgery.

had gallbladder removed at 21 ...but had to go through pregnacy 1st with pain and now have 2" scar.. was sterlised at 30 after 8 yrs of fighting for it..had cyst removed from neck which they checked for cancer and thankfully all clear...also had ballon for womens probs ...had camera down throat had hernia .....dam i need a new body lol

I used to drive buses and my nuts used to twist and they stangulated I had to get them sewn back in place now that hurts

Ive got this far luckily without having to endure too much but I know there are certain proceedures that I see everyday that I would be screaming for a general anaesthetic for

Whoever it was that mentioned the bone biopsy further up? now that is pure evil torture....I feel for you x
