Picking on smokers

I really don't know if it's a UK thing but I have read some vile comments on here about smokers. Not all smokers smell like an ashtray , not all have bad breath, and not all smokers cum taste nasty.

Most of the smokers I know are very considerate and you probably wouldn't know they smoke..

Just give smokers a chance, you might be missing out on great people.

All the smokers we've met have smelt of smoke and had vile tasting cum if we're honest, however we don't pick on them, we just choose not to meet them. Our choice, plenty that will meet them

Sorry but I am a smoker and totally accept others choice!

However, most of the single men I have met all had non-smokers on their profile yet when they come round to mine, they follow me into the kitchen to cadge a fag as they do smoke really but only with alcohol.

Or they used to smoke so don't really mind it, just never contact someone who states will not meet smokers not a big deal

Personal choice. I prefer non smokers, smoke comes out of skin pores and you can smell it more as a non smoker.

I still miss sitting back on a beach, enjoying a smoke as I watch the surf

Not completely off topic, I read on a couples profile once where they stated they'd put themselves both down as non smokers because although one did smoke, it was only when she was with other people!

I've got wont meet smokers on my pro but tbh my last two meets were both smokers n i didn't know untill they admitted afterwards. (Nawty boys) if a meet pitched up stinking of fags then I would be totally put off. Xxx

I smoked ever since I was young but gave up 3 years ago now. The people that I worked with never knew I smoked even though I used to go out in my lunch and break to smoke. Goes to show it's impossible to tell who smokes sometimes

Maybe not but when someone sits behind you on the bus,reeking of acrid tobacco and breathing it in your direction it's very difficult not to feel repulsed. On here you can't tell if someone is going to stink of cigarettes and have foul breath and stained teeth,or have no signs of it at all. It is a nasty habit that a lot of people would love to easily give up. It's not easy to do,which is why I will meet a smoker as long as they don't smoke while we meet. If it's a very long meet though I ask them if they would like to go out for one. The considerate people wash their hands and have a mint afterwards. One of the worse tastes,along with tea breath,is nicotine on a tongue. I'd rather have garlic

It's another not very nice smell or taste that comes from drinking tea. It's difficult to describe.

However I can't say being around smokers bothers me. Just cos I've stopped doesn't mean they have to.

I've got to ask......what does smokers cum taste like? Does it taste of tobacco? Does it make a difference to the taste if the smoker smokes tailor made, filtered or rollies? If a meet smokes rollies would you consider it a rough shag? In a blind taste test would you be able to tell the difference?

I think you are referring partly to my post on another thread.

I do not say that smokers smell like ashtrays, my post comment says 3 Smokers I met tasted like an ashtray, I stand by that, they did, they had been smoking heavily and not cleaned their teeth before meet.None of them were from this site.

I also said I don't mind meeting smokers, as long as they clean their teeth before meeting, I stand by that also.

Smoking is a life style choice, if you smoke you have made that choice,you were not born with a fag in your mouth. If people don't want to meet smokers then that is their choice. X

From personal experience, if a smoker starts to exert themselves, their lungs seem to dig deep and expel stale smoke. I have kissed smokers in the past who thought they could hide it with mints, but the nicotine taste lingered in the mouth and on the tongue. Ergo, I won't meet smokers. (One guy turned up at a social meet having smoked for the entire car journey, he reeked of it. His reasoning was that in my presence he wouldn't smoke therefore he was a non-smoker!)

I (Mr) have been a smoker for many years, I have tried on a few occasions to quit, but it's fucking hard! so give us smokers a break, we don't stink if we are considerate enough to have mint gum or a mint imperial after a fag... and our clothes can smell nice if the person sprays a nice smell on them too.

Now I'm off for a B&H gold, and a mint afterwards.

My ex husband states he is a non smoker because generally he only smokes around people. He is convinced his gf doesn't know but he has his head in the clouds, he even has one just before he meets her, the whole 'I've brushed my teeth, clean clothes' trick works wonders!!! Pmsl!!

I smoke but ads doesn't, I like to think I don't smell of an ashtray but I know full well I do but I'd respect people's choices if I was still swinging

Not propaganda. Smokers stink no matter what they do. It comes out of their pores and their body fluids are tainted and taste bitter. I say that as an ex smoker who didn't think smoking made me smell. It did, no matter how often I showered, washed or cleaned my teeth...I just couldn't smell it.

I have nothing against people's personal decision to smoke, I just don't want them in my house or in my body...a mint or gum does not even begin to cover it and alcohol based hand gels don't actually get rid of it either

Most smokers are like all addicts. When they need a fix they do not think or care about how feeding their habit will effect or harm on others, all they are interested in is feeding their habit.

This is the reason that laws have had to be passed banning smoking in the workplace, pubs, clubs, public buildings, public transport and private vehicles transporting under 18's. that an extra law had to be passed to prevent parents (mainly) poisoning their children by smoking in the cars they were transporting them in shows just how selfish smokers in general are when it comes to feeding their habit!

I don't know how old you are but

Growing up people smoked everywhere... Air planes had ashtrays and you could even smoke in the hospital... Now our generation turned ok fine... So what's the big deal?

I have been smoking for 16 years. I have had women tell me how nice i smelt or tasted on many occasions and some were non-smokers. I won't go without a ciggy if I am meeting someone. If they don't like the fact I smoke that is their problem not mine. Simple as.

I don't know what the laws are like your side of the pond now. But I do know that the health damages done by inhaling smoke have been known for 50+ years. First the tobacco companies denied and suppressed the evidence and eventually when it could be denied no longer smokers said and still say so what it is our right to do what ever we like to ourselves and if you don't smoke and I want to that's your problem. That is the behaviour of an addict whose only interest is feeding their habit no matter the consequences to others especially their children who do not have the option of refusing to share their company and secondhand smoke.

Now please explain to me how what I said originally is a bit extreme?

Try "Some" instead of "Most". Like some drinkers cause fights, some people drop litter, some people speed through housing estates....

Absolute rubbish

I didnt smoke in pubs etc even when it was legal. I wont have one in the middle of the street i find somewhere away from people and i am always considerate and ask first.

Every smoker i know has smelt of cigarettes. Whether it's their clothes, their breath, their home or car.

I don't like it, it's a turn off, but it's my personal preference.

Besides, smoking is bad for your health anyway

Sorry but you are wrong.

We do not smoke but we meet smokers. When we come back from smokers houses (even very considerate smokers who who do not smoke in their own houses) We can smell smoke on the clothes we have worn to the meet.

Like all preferences that exclude a person or group there will be people and those amongst that group who feel hard done to and wish to change others _iews or preferences so they will fit ...
