Post Office. ..."can I ask what the item is you're sending"

Anyone heard any funny things that people have said that they are sending?

I just send the odd Xbox game and stuff but is it fairly new for them to ask what we are sending now? If it was a dodgy item do they think we will say what it honestly is?

They always ask what your sending .... just that you notice it more now

It's usually asked so they know what level of cover to offer for the insurance. Nothing sinister

My post lady always has a smile on her face when I come in, sure she gets a kick out of asking would I am sending out.

The last one was a 12" dildo

I've just sent a parcel via the post office and no one asked me....

good job they never asked me the last time I sent one too...if they did the answer would have been a PVC bondage dress with chains across the bust...but I would have loved to see the look on the cashiers face

I did a shed clear out last year and sold some car stuff on eBay. When the post office woman asked me, I just said 'body parts' in a low voice- not sure why she looked indicators and door trim are body parts

I've never been asked. They weigh it, put the appropriate postage on and send.

Not so much what I was sending as what I was recieving.

I had to go to the post office to pick up a parcel and pay import tax on it, good job they didn't ask as my parcel contained a chastity device

They are supposed to ask because there's been a lot of new restrictions on what you can and can't send now. So, for example, I think you can't send batteries unless they are new and sealed?

I'm a chronic ebayer. I've heard there's no cure...

Easter just around the corner!

I ordered a wand from Lovehoney a while ago,but for some reason it didn't work so trotted back to the post office to return it. Now no-one had told me that they now ask you what's inside the parcel. The post office had rather a long queue which was deadly quiet. For a few seconds I was dumbstruck as I certainly didn't want to tell the whole of the post office what was in there and feeling really awkward I just waffled it was personal. The post office guy getting more impatient now showed me a list of prohibited stuff, which I just said no to. I've never been a one to think up a good answer on the spot,I walked out slightly embarrassed

Next time I'm going to stand proud and shout 'it's a disfunctional sex toy' or probably not

Every time they ask.... even just a normal 1st class item so no insurance needed.

They gotta do what they gotta do I guess

My Little Old Lady Friend™ had a parcel for a friend in Suffolk, which she duly took to the post office and was duly asked if it contained various harmful or dangerous substances.

When she was asked if it contained batteries, my friend says, "Yes, it's sex toys!"

The questions stopped.

I had to pick up a parcel for my son in law it was a role play games book. I was dressed in my leather trousers and a very low cut leather top. The brown paper parcel had been ripped. But you could see a cartoon of a lady warrior. The young lad looked at me then the parcel went red and couldn't speck to well. So I just said "oh great it's the book I wanted but I was hoping it was my whip and chains."

It was so funny as he went even redder and all of a sudden heads came round the door of the room from the back. When I turned all the men waiting said hi but the women give me evil looks. Hubby was pissing himself laughing. It was so funny.

I've never heard anyone being asked what they are sending.

I do hear people being asked the VALUE of what they are sending.
