For me it was last year, first proper holiday for about 6 years and certainly after a broken engagement.

Went to stay with a mate in California and wanted to simply enjoy life.

A few days in F had a small birthday gathering and invited some girls from a leadership thing he was involved in. As soon as I saw her sparkling eyes and glossy hair it took a while to overcome my puppy dog ness- I think most would agree K is a genuinely beautiful girl.

However since I'm not the greatest looking guy didn't think I stood a chance. We met a few times but on the last weekend I was there bumped into her in a bar but she left so thought any chance had gone.

Later however I walked towards the front of the place and she'd come back. Looking sensational and classy I was dropped on when it turns out she was looking for me- to take home.

Needless to say I thought of England...

The moral of the story is although not shallow for looks - my greatest turn on is intelligence think Dr Hannah Fry- K was about as close as a 10 for me as possible, certainly what was unobtainable in the UK. It just felt like life had dealt me a diamond amongst the shit, just briefly.
