why don't people read profiles any more as its got all the information you require to get to chat to people and see if you get a long

as i have put in my profile some thing to put as i have certain needs that need to be met

i get so frustrated when they just put hi or how are you

also when they live bloody miles away from me

also i have blocked so many people now i lost count after 1200

also when it comes to meeting me they don't what they say they will do when messaging this gets me really wound up and frustrated so why oooooooo why don't people read profiles any more

I will never include a person's magic phrase , it's too much like jumping through a hoop

I read all profiles, craft appropriate messages and am pleased with my profile

If I'm rejected due to petty box ticking then I consider myself a lucky escape xxx

i always reply to messages when i know they have not read my profile then i block them as it does say in block capitals some thing so that's me

I read profiles if the person might interest me. And in detail if they really start to interest me.

But if they start with shouty capitals then the person is disregarded immediately.

Likewise if I find one of these " special word" things.

i so agree with you they are just interested in what they get out of it not the other person they don't know the meaning of the word swinging do they

its about getting to know people

also the reason why i put it in capital letters as one person said it doesn't say anything think they were blind so i put it in capital letters so they can read it clearly

its about meeting people like minded people and making firm friendships a long the way and most of all enjoyment

if they don't read my profile then again i think they are not worthy of me in the first place also i find them rude and think are they able to actually have a conversation these days

I didn't think people ever did read profiles

My opinion of yours, it's a tad long for me ~I'd switch off halfway & probably chance my luck & message you regardless. Maybe others see it the same way which is why you're getting the mail you do.

Maybe have a rethink, you could always filter up & do the searching yourself.

Why should I read a profile and waste 5 minutes of my life...

If some are"just too confusing to waste time reading",then ignore them,don't contact them,but don't,as I think the op is getting at,contact them anyway.it's disrespectful and imo ill mannered.

It's all about tweaking as you go along & then stick with what works for you

I've had both a long detailed profile & a short one ~ can't say it's made any difference to the messages I've received.

yes i do but i get so many messages on a night when i come home from work that i don't have chance to look for people myself i just look at messages but in future i will send out messages thanks advice taken on board

It clearly says on our profile that random friend requests will be ignored so far today I have had 10 random requests! People just look through pics don't read the profile and take a chance.

Life for me is too short to read long profiles with shouty capitals, let along to make sure I have included certain words in the correct order, with correct spelling etc.

If you're finding it difficult to control the messages you receive why not just use your filters to more effect, it will save your time reading messages you do not want to recieve and give you more time to look for the people you are interested in. Good luck

a lot of profiles on here are way too confusing and demanding..

and too shouty (using capital letters)..

why bother writing down everything you don't like?

why not just set your filters and contact those that interest you, instead of getting all worked up about people not reading something you have taken the trouble to write?

With all due respect what do people, mainly women, think is going to happen if they post the photos they do? Man, rightly or wrongly, are going to look at the photos and jump to conclusions. Might I suggest a solution, don't have any public photos and then see what happens. But, to be honest, people want others to perv over their photos, don't they? After all how many threads start with "do you think my boobs..." etc etc, come on be honest!!!

I too had a ranty, whiney profile full of do's and don'ts and 'write piss flaps in the header if you have read it all' and it didn't make a jot of difference...

so I ditched it for something altogether far more confusing and kept the pics...cos to be honest no one would chat if I took them away

I agree with you...

IF YOUR STRAIGHT OR SMOKE, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND OURS BY MESSAGING, WINKING US OR SENDING FRIEND INVITES.

But we still get the messages etc from straight couples/guys or from people who smoke.

We log on and get all exited when we see we have a couple of new messages, then we discover that they are from a couple who love our profile and so want to meet us but one or both smoke or one or both are straight.
