Bristol. By the docks. Nice hotels, good restaurants, loads to do, boat trips, great atmosphere. Take the train.

Bath is also good, in the centre at least.

How about the south coast? Specifically the Chichester area. You have good beaches (West Wittering), plenty of villages, Bosham, Emsworth etc. Then within a few miles you have the South downs. Again plenty of villages, pubs and walks. Portsmouth and Brighton within an hours drive. I'd avoid Bognor though!

Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Madeira, London, or rural like Lakes, Highlands, Devon, EasyJet has loads of deals around that are a good price, every city has its charms - pick one and enjoy!

"Stratford upon Avon is a lovely little place for a couple of days away "

Really, I must try it

If you're with the right person then I've found location doesn't matter.

However if it's specifically about the location then U.K. then I'd recommend Aphrodites spa in the lakes, if you fancy somewhere abroad then try Maria Cristina in San Sebastián (semana grande is fantastic) or lido palace in Riva Del Garda

Rent a log cabin in the wildlands of Scotland. Many have hot tubs, log burners and some have fire pits, which seem to keep the pesky midges away. Failing that drink plenty of champagne (or drink of your choice) so you're numb to the nasty blighters bites

Anywhere can make a romantic weekend away, it's all about the company!!

Doesn't need to cost a fortune or have to be too far away. A nice country hotel maybe a spa hotel, just relax and enjoy
