Firstly I will start by saying we genuinely respect all cultures and understand everyone culture has its own laws and ideas of moral acceptability..

But after reading this we can't really understand how this can be right?!

The man also received 100 lashes for sex outside of marriage and another 40 for consuming alcohol.

The case against them is that they were seen interacting with each other publicly and the case against the man for rape couldn't be proved.

It's fucked up sure, but when in Rome....know where you are.

Apparently she had not long converted to Islam, so she can't say she didn't know what would happen, should she become a victim of rape.

I wouldn't even visit a country which had laws like that, nor work in one.

The culture yes.. this particular aspect of it noooo.. All cultures should be respected to a degree however like our own culture there are some very negative aspects that are out of tune with modern life and attitudes

Ohhh we certainly agree that you should know the law of the land you're in. But if she had been genuinely drug rapped then regardless of all the other circumstances this is completely wrong.. the country is in the dark ages!!

Slightly difficult to do when your drink.is spiked and you wake up in a strange apartment.

The woman was found guilty of sex out of marriage and fixed around £500 and given a suspended sentence. The Dutch embassy are working on getting her out of the country as soon as possible.
