Attack on a swingers club.

In light of the shootings in the U.S. at a gay club and in the current atmosphere of terror attacks, what are your thoughts on a possible attack on a swingers club given the fact that swinging is an act that terrorists might target.

This seems like "at a time when others are actually suffering, let's think about how I could have a hard time and bring the focus back to me for a bit".

At least allow people to mourn for a few minutes?

Almost zero.

Any gay bar would make a vastly better target in terms of crowd etc.

Swingers clubs are private members clubs and you have to produce ID to gain entry whereas gay bars are open to anyone. The likelihood of a swingers club being attacked in this way is remote to say the least.

Feel free to live your life scared and worried about every possible thing that may happen in life.

Personally, I'm going to enjoy life in every way I can and deal with the bad stuff if it ever happens.

Same reason gay bars are.

Its a sin punishable by death to these people.

Unlike tescos.

Stadiums have a fairly low risk because of difficulty.

Bars and clubs though can be fairly soft targets often with a decent crowd ourside them that even a failed entry could still work out

Ok now that the fake self righteous outbursts have been gotten out of the way! Lets have a proper discussion on the subject. There was a club targeted in the Midlands recently by armed robbers so gaining access to a club is not that hard. Have any clubs any plans to counter this?

I think it's extremely unlikely to ever happen.

In 3 years we've only ever had a couple of prolonged stares from taxi drivers when exiting a club, never had or heard of abuse for people going to a club.

Most people probably wish they knew what was going on inside anyway

For the cash in the tills and the valuables of the people inside?

I am sure someone has the ability and time to kick something like that off

Would world wide signatures count? Would we accept international petitions to change our laws?

No, international signatures would mean nothing to them. I think most Americans know how the rest of the world views their gun laws. It doesn't change anything.

In any case, I think in this instance homophobia was the bigger problem. The gun was just a facilitator of what appears to be a hatred that it ridden pretty hard in certain parts of the US.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that terrorists have any religious devotion.

They are simply angry little cunts who don't have what they want in life and want to kill people to make themselves feel vindicated.

They are pathetic, unthinking, small shits of people who have about as much in common with their chosen religion as I do with a wheel of cheddar.

Also please let's stop dreaming up reasons to have fear. Live, live and live in peace.

I don't actually like America or Anericans in general but I do like the fact that they are so liberal with guns and other asorted man stuff... which is dodgy because it's very easy for the nutjobs to take their guns and go on a rampage.

Having said that, I'd still prefer all the guns over a 'safer' society.

I recall that a man carried out a nail bomb attack in London on a gay pub. The attack in Orlando was at a gay club. Sex clubs and people who have certain attitudes to sex can be made a target. All I'm saying is most clubs I've been to just have a normal wooden front door and that's it. Think of the headlines an attack at a swingers club would generate. not really scare mongering. we're nothing like america at all when it comes to mass violence, nor like war zones and there bombings, so we can take that into account.

but the no3 was attacked. it didn't stop me going. just some idiot tried to set it on fire and nearly set himself on fire instead. some people feel strongly against promiscuity and gay people, i think gay people still get attacked now in this day and age and you wouldn't think this would happen in our so-called civilisation but it does. sad really.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

"In light of the shootings in the U.S. at a gay club and in the current atmosphere of terror attacks, what are your thoughts on a possible attack on a swingers club given the fact that swinging is an act that terrorists might target.

I really never worry about the risk of terrorism, I don;t worry about things that will probably never happene and that I can't influence anyway

We are all going to die. A life spent trying to avoid that rather than actually living seems pretty pointless to me"

I was in Paris the week before the attacks last year. I was in Marrakech the week of the Belgian attacks (ringleader was Moroccan). I fly a lot (various planes being shot out of the sky/crashing). If its going to happen, its going to happen, and I don't assume that an attack 5,000 mile away will affect my life in any way.

"I recall that a man carried out a nail bomb attack in London on a gay pub. The attack in Orlando was at a gay club. Sex clubs and people who have certain attitudes to sex can be made a target. All I'm saying is most clubs I've been to just have a normal wooden front door and that's it. Think of the headlines an attack at a swingers club would generate. It does cross my mind when I'm in a club nowadays.

What would you like the entrance to clubs to look like?

Airport-style security? Can I volunteer to man the body-scanner?

We should make terrorism illegal.

Let's not go over the top.

Living life curled up in the corner of a room too scared to move should cover it "

Darwinism I guess. The eejits are too scared to go out, everyone else prevails.

Central

Surrounded by blood soaked people in Soho, after the Admiral Duncan event - it was one incredibly loud bang - me and my friend did not curtail our lives. She's been to many gay, bi, trans places since - in fact the gay pub bomb injured many straight people including women.

Just make your own life and be free.

Exactly - one of us is working in Tel Aviv at the moment staying very close to the scene of the horrendous terrorist attacks earlier this week.

Whilst it was an unpleasant and scary evening, life goes on!!

We'll be attending a Swinging Club in TA in July - now that's living on the edge

O o O oo

I will answer your question. IF it is an act of terrorism as the USA police seem to think, then yes, it could happen in swinging clubs too.

The killers father seems to think he has been agitated since he saw two gays kissing and isn't anything to do with religion

So it's a nut job with a grudge and a gun then? Sheesh! When will America wake up and take note.

374 mass shootings last year, sadly I think America will never wake up. Even the singer odf Eagles of death Metal has blamed the French and claimed that US gun laws would have prevented the Paris attacks

I know what the pro gun lobby in the US are defending and its all to do with the right to bear arms but that was written 200 years ago and was intended for arms against a hostile government where local groups could form a militia.

That doesn't and cannot apply now so America needs to modernise it's laws and ban the sale of guns or at least control them as tightly as we do here.
