Just looked to see how much a coach from Heathrow to Liverpool would cost? It worked out at £47:50 one way.

I can get the train for £18:50

Wtf?

It's cheaper the earlier you book it mate. Same coach in a week or too will probably be about a tenner.

Just where I need to be.

I went to Coventry via London from Portsmouth return cost me 32.00. If you book a few weeks ahead or even days the price is far cheaper.

The enquiry was for August, how do they warrant being double the train fare?

A lot depends on when you book and also when you are travelling as train fares can also be exhortation are. That train fare is presumably not in the rush hour which I suspect is triple figures if not booked way in advance!

Get the heathrow train to the Victoria then catch the Mega Bus. Can be as cheap as £2, depending on what discounts you can get

You must be using a different site to me as I just compared the train and coach prices for a Saturday in August.

The train was £41 single and the coach £24.70.

Sheffield

Did you see the thing on the news a few weeks back. A student got quoted a £50 ish on the coach to go from Nottingham back down south. So he flew Ryanair to stanstead via Berlin for cheaper, including a few hours in Berlin city centre

He has made a mini career out of doing it. With those prices, national express make it viable

It costs nearly £18.50 to go off peak from London to Reading so I'm curious how often you get that price to Liverpool!!!

Central

You can probably fly for about the same. Or consider looking for a ride share host. Local buses around Heathrow are free, so there are options to get away from a premium transport hub.
