You hear all too often to take the plunge, tell someone how you feel before its too late, you never know what's around the corner..they maybe feeling exactly the same. If you do and those feelings aren't reciprocated, surely its better to have kept your feelings to yourself and imagined what it may have been like, rather than having those hopes and dreams squashed?? Just to cheer ya all up in a Fab Friday. Posted on behalf of a umm friend

Without a doubt honesty is the best policy.

In the case of your ummmm friend there would always be that "what if, should they shouldnt they?" Now "they" know for definite and can move on to pursue someone who is interested.

I think so, some can deal with it, many can't.

Had you not told her, you wouldn't know what her reaction would be. At least you know and time will heal. Maybe give her some space and let her seek you out next, as the friend you are? Good luck.

It's the emotional equivalent of ripping off a plaster when it isn't reciprocated. Really fucking hurts but it's over and done with and the act of doing it means the healing can start in fresh air. Without you always wondering and overanalysing every little gesture and conversation because now you know. Not knowing is a far more prolonged agony.

I'd say it's better to tell someone, because you never know good things may happen.

But I wouldn't take this advice. As someone who has admired two men from afar, I know it's a miserable experience and should be avoided at all costs for ones health and emotional wellbeing, but the thought of rejection, that's even worse!

You may here it often but not necessarily in here.

It is hard when feelings aren't reciprocated but at least you know where you stand. It's then up to you how you deal with that knowledge x
