Any one watched this & still think the government (especially current one) have represents the interests of the majority?

I think the BHS problem (11,000 jobs) is a bigger deal than the steel works. Seems there was more pressure on the government to preserve steel as almost a kind of heritage industry instead of a means of employment.

your dead right, because if we ever go to war then we can rely on BHS to supply us with armour, steel and a whole host of bi-products that are used to ensure we all stay safe. If you really think the steel industry is a heritage industry, then look a bit deeper into it and you may be very surprised what you find.

Did we only start importing our steel after Iraq/Afghanistan? Seems like we've done alright during those periods of war with what we imported. It's not the 1930s anymore.

Errr I was hoping to use this as another example to expose the utter lack of representation of the masses by our elected officials..

Instead they like to throw in our faces and have us argue our opinions on issues that they fully know we cannot come to a general consensus. Immigration, EU membership, terrorism from ethnic groups (corporate ones hides in plain sight).

Age old game of distract them with these carrots, whilst selling the cuntry (typo free) to profit gluttonous few. Spot a pattern?

its not a 1,200 its more like 15,000 without an additional 20,000+ contractors and lots more associated with the product. It's obvious you know little about it. Like i said, look into the steel industry and you will see it's crucial to how the country does business. Tarmac ltd for instance who make your roads and cement is made with byproduct of steel making, your car prices will skyrocket in price because the steel industry keeps its prices competitive.

You've missed my point just because you're so emotionally involved with the industry, or because you're simply ignoring what I'm typing. I am questioning why a potential risk in comparison to a guaranteed loss aren't being dealt with similarly. Anyway, did we or did we not do okay during wars in Iraq/Afghanistan with steel despite heavily relying on imported steel?
