Fake verifications

Why is it that so many people have fake verifications, surely that just ruins the whole site. For example someone has just joined and the have a multitude of verifications, little bit of a joke

I was verified within minutes of joining as had been on a meet with someone from another site who suggested this one so verified me straight away. Doesn't necessarily mean they are fake

I've been boomeranging on and off this site for a couple of years now and whenever I come back on I'll get verified quickly by one or two friends or previous meets. That's why most of my veris aren't describing an actual meet, just saying they know me and I'm genuine.

If the profile/s you're talking about has lots of meet-type veris in one day then yeah I'd probably be suspicious of that but just report and let admin decide, or move along and enjoy my day

I got someone I know to join this week and verified him within minutes as I know him well - don't always assume the worst.

Although if someone has a profile with one old verification and that person who verified hasn't been verified or on site since then I'd question it....

Yep this too! Or has one veri from a hidden profile normally puts me off

People rejoin and verifications right away from meeting before how can you say they are fake?

If there are veris I will read them as part of an overall assessment on whether I want to meet that person or couple but veris alone won't sway it one way or the other. I tend to go with my gut instinct.

We gave a guy a veri about 90 seconds after he joined as it was us that told him to join up...Doesn't make him or us fakes though.

Thought only verified people on this site could verify others so how are they fake, and more to the point how do you get them just a joke before she who shan't be named goes all vitriolous on me!
