"The EU’s institutions work very badly. It is characterised by poor democratic accountability, an excess of remote bureaucracy and excessive regulation and a touch of corruption, we the UK play by the rules when so many European countries ignore them If we came out of the EU the single market would still be there, We would still have access to it – but not on the same terms as now. We would be in the same position that India, China, Japan, the US and umpteen other countries are when successfully selling into the EU and the UK has a good head on its shoulders, we can be trusted, okay we have lost our triple A rating but we honour our deals which will encourage others to trade. Our GDP is the fifth or sixth largest in the world. It is widely believed that current demographic trends will, within the next few decades, make us the largest economy in Europe and remember if we leave the EU, we are still IN Europe!!!!!! if we stay in, we may find our freedom of manoeuvre on fiscal matters severely restricted, we might yet find ourselves compelled to join the euro – or at the very least severely disadvantaged outside it, we siply cannot say we will be better within the EU as we do not know what the future of the EU holds or how they intend to "re-model" the UK!!!! the Prime Minister’s attempts to reform the EU and shift power back to nation states failed and in that failing, he failed the people of the UK This leaves us with no option now but to go it alone We can do this, we are a great nation, we can prove the EU wrong and show them that one country can stand alone and prosper. That is why I ticked the "Leave" box yesterday on my postal vote" | |||
