Anyone else rubbish at flirting or keeping conversations going?

I can engage in a bit of banter or double entendre for a while but then I just think oh they'll be sick of talking to me by now I'll just wander off now....Yeah....lol

Yeah I'm rubbish

Was out with a few mates from work and there's this girl I like.

I couldn't tell if she was being nice to me or if she likes me back.

Now that I can do! I've been conversing with my brick wall tonight while I removed 350 year old plaster and wondered about the horses that donated the hair that went into it

Oh god, this is so me. Clumsy at flirting, can't do small talk and a girl practically has to shove her breasts in my face for me to realise she's interested.

You should give it a go. Never know you might be surprised at the result.

I do it a lot but it can become seen as your natural style, rather than some seductress wanting in on some intimacy. Follow through with sustained physical proximity and explore a new beginning

"Oh I love a good flirt "

I can imagine you do and from your amazing album I bet you are in control and have them eating out if your hand. Very hot.

From other comments, I'd say it's important not to confuse flirting and talking. Flirting for me is very two-way. It feeds off one another. I can talk for England too -but then tend not to read the situation.

We are like that too, but the other way round.

This is exactly me OP .... I find small talk and/or flirting really difficult and actually quite uncomfortable on occasion. If someone leads the conversation I can make a reasonable stab at being sociable in return but am hopeless at initiating it myself. As another poster up thread said, someone has to spell it out absolutely explicitly before I let myself even begin to think they *might* be interested. I do recognise this is a big self confidence issue but nonetheless can't help beating myself up about it on a regular basis and regretting missed opportunities due to my social ineptitude. How to improve matters I don't know ... but am very much in awe of those who appear to flit effortlessly around a room 'circulating'.

I probably have what would be labelled as a 'borderline personality disorder' as I am extremely antisocial and have never particularly been interested in a long-term relationship.

I'm not shy, I just struggle to interact with other people on a common level. In fact, it's probably fair to say I dislike people in general.

A little hint though - if you're stuck at the 'small talk' stage in a group conversation and don't know how to keep the conversation going when the 'awkward silence' moment is coming simply lean in, say something completely innocent yet completely inappropriate like "I like turtles!"

...then immediately walk away to the bar to buy a round of drinks.

Their reaction will let you know if you're on to a winner or not.

For me it depends on the person and whether we're any good at playing off one another.

Always assume less is more when flirting online. A " Fancy a fuck " message with a phone number works every time...

I think I'm OK at flirting, for the most part. There is, however, another problem: some people are just impervious to flirting. There's nothing more frustrating than deploying a weapons-grade flirt and getting a "lol" back.

I am the same I can't always tell if people are being polite / flirting or genuily intreasted

I find that akward period between flirting and asking to play is the worse,

its even worse if you know the couple don't actively look for single guys but play ocationally with them but you have a feeling the female is flirting - akward

Yep. I'm sure half of my messages are read and deleted because I'm a social retard. I just crumble at making small talk or trying to say something witty and engaging.
