I stayed there a few years ago. Great lobby. Good bars.

The room? Bloody awful. Tiny. Last decorated in 1965. Truly horrid.

A park bench would have been cleaner than my room, for sure. There were some very suspicious stains on the carpet, too. Yuk.

Stayed there for my hen night in 2005. Great sausages at breakfast. Didn't sleep in the bed (1) because it didn't look clean & (2) I stayed up all night drinking, the windows didn't open & the bathroom wasn't pleasant.

However, it was 11 years ago & I think they stuck hen & stag parties on certain floors.

The sausages ended up on the west coast main line, I had alcohol poisoning. Great memories though

One of my group was mugged for their wallet in the lobby

On the plus side it's got a fantastic function room where a whole wall moves up to reveal another room behind it

Worst hotel in Liverpool. Very sad it has been run down over the years with no investment as it has the history and grace to be one of the best. The hotel is not a true reflection of the city and it's great people. Avoid.
