a lot of guys think its just about calling you names doing things hard and face fucking etc when its not its actually more subtle than that (ok sometmes the hard stuff comes ino play but its not all of it lol)

as soon as someone finds out i am sub they tend to change towards me

I find the same.... get messages asking to be dominated... but if they read my profile... they will see I am never dominated by others.

I also find people suddenly think I'm a doormat... when they know I'm submissive.

Is there? Assertiveness is a component of being dominant, but I think the reason why I find the doormat analogy unhelpful is because, for me, directing proceedings, being sub is a very physically demanding experience, quite the opposite of lying there and having someone wipe their feet on you...

I think it would be really helpful if fab could add some extra "interests" categories for this.

Often I see "spanking" or "SM" on someone's profile, but it's really difficult to work out whether they like to top or bottom or both -- unless they state it in the profile of course.

It does make a difference to some folks I guess.

For my part, I'm neither really sub nor dom. I'm a masochist mainly, but with an epicurean need to explore all sorts of things. I like domme women, but I prefer not to sub to them.

So, yeah... there's not many women out there who are into that... sadly!

It's not really people I'm with that I have trouble with... I don't do the whole D/s thing very often... it needs trust so with the one person I do that with I know that if I laugh it's cool.

However, sometimes I see stuff in the chatrooms that just makes me cringe. I'm not getting the whole submissive (read doormat) thing because it's not the way I am. I look at the whole Ma'am and Sir thing to every tom, dick and harry that appears in the chatroom and it just makes me roll my eyes. I realise some people like it an that's fair enough... I just think it's a bit OTT.

I'm never going to be someone I'm not for some 'scene' ettiquette that I don't believe in.

I am just me....which means I am usually the one in control lol.

Hate the term Dom/Domme/Sub....just naturally Dominant in all aspects of my life and that includes sexually.

That doesnt mean I am going to unleash alsorts on them, it just means I know what I like, how I like it and dont have a problem sharing or showing the person I am with....and yes some of those things I like are kinky and would fall into the catagory of BDSM lol.
