"Try Meet-up. It's a website with lots of different groups in different parts of the country for various hobbies. " This is what I was going to suggest. There's lots on there and I've met a guy who turned out to be on here and we have a great time as mates

"Some advice would be welcome; how do you make new friends as an adult?! Ive been in my current town for 4 years and still don't feel like I have a close network of friends. All my old and close friends are scattered around the uk and I've started to feel really down about it. I've joined a sports team, tried befriending fellow mum's but it feels really forced. I've yet to meet anyone I feel like I can be myself with and enjoy a good night out with... Has anyone experienced similar? Any advice on good ways to make new chums? " I experienced this when I moved away from a city where I grew up into a little village in the country. I moved here 9 years ago and still don't really know anyone. I say hi to the neighbours and the odd chat about the weather etc and that's about it. Was weird going from having busy soctal life to having next to none. But tbh I've got used to it now and couldn't think of anything worse than going back to my busy old life. I quite like the quiet life now. Nice Walks in the countryside which is on my doorstep. Thong is to keep yourself occupied if you can then you won't feel like you have cabin fever and not too lonely . Youll be fine

Esp if you're not outgoing and don't enjoy 'putting yourself out there' (assumptions here and apologies if they're wrong) I've been in my teeny market town 13 years and still don't really have any friends here. They're more further afield.
