Did anyone get to the flower show? I've been a few times but didn't this year.

I've never actually been. I drove past it when it was being set up but that's as close as I've been.

I love visiting regional flower and vegetable shows .......

There is something quintessentially refreshing about watching guys measuring up the bounty of their labours ......

I've loved it but also found the crowds offputting - that can make it excruciating when it's very hot too.

Whilst some garden ideas can scale up or down, I also would prefer show gardens that are more appropriate to the ordinary people. The designers' desire to win medals tends to create concepts that aren't achievable or affordable for enough people. Seeing it on T.V. I wasn't hugely impressed with many of them.

Yeah even though I'm of the persuasion where size does matter

......

I really like that everyday folk can share their passion for all things gardening or baking cakes etc, without needing to break the bank trying to outdo each other......

I'm looking forward to our local events...
