If you met someone who had never seen a film and you had to choose the first one for them to see what would you pick?

Very hard to choose but i think i would choose it's a wonderful life,it is a classic fairy story with no special effects to distract, just great acting and directiong.

"ohhh i love the Goodfellas,

The colour purple...never seen it why ?"

it is fantastic film, but they are all reunited at the end and very moving it is. I think the dialogue is a tad silly tho.

Oprey Winfrey does a great job, she plays a very convincing role.

Whoopi Goldberg is fantastic

To Kill A Mocking Bird, or Twelve Angry Men.

Both are timeless classis IMHO, with subject matters that are still relevant to this day.

Singing In The Rain, High Society or Roman Holiday.

Love the oldies, and if it's ya first film you want to be broken in gently.
