Anyway:

Profiles that can neither accommodate nor travel, yet want to meet. Presumably in the ether.

Overstating features that could be considered unflattering. I understand a woman saying 'I've had a few kids', but when it starts reading like Wilfred Owen tackling the post-natal form it's a bit much.

One that I understand but sometimes have a thin skin with is the Mission Impossible styled 'Messages will self-destruct if you don't include the secret phrase elsewhere in this profile. Changed into Wingdings'. Sometimes, particularly with a longer profile, it's natural to check against yays and nays and make your mind up that it's worth saying hi without reading in full. If you've respect enough for tone and nuance you know a profile isn't going to take a last minute detour right off the love cliff.

Enough rambling.

I can't leave my local area, I'm not prepared to travel to Cornwall or Scotland or even an hour away really so I don't travel. It doesn't mean I can't leave my house and meet in a local bar/pub.

I also don't have meets at my home. I'm happy to sort out a hotel room though.

So I don't travel, and I don't accommodate. What would you expect me to put?

I can see how it can be confusing to someone. I put can travel and tell people who are too far away that I don't travel that far.

There are currently 21,000 people on site. I'm guessing at least half of these are single men.

The people who moan must get what, half a dozen messages they don't like a day? At most?

So what's that 0.05%?

So the problem is not singleguys, it's just some people's misguided perception of them, often exacerbated by those people not taking advantage of the site's features properly.

Its that whole thing about 'hate the player not the game'. Peoples agendas and criteria all come into fore. Typically its not one things that puts me off any specific individual - its s sense you get from them, a culmination of little (or big things).

In fact the reason my profile is hidden is because someones negative actions (toward me) had a negative impact (on me, personally) and Im taking time to reassess my approach and outlook.

I wonder if more people did the same (be sure in their own needs and desires and expectations) it would lead to less angst over what people write / demand in profiles and messages and the simple acceptance that they clearly don't have a meeting of minds over common ground.

Or maybe Im just rambling!

5. Dirty laundry in pictures ( )

6. Hoop Jumping Requirement

7. No pics on profile

8. Status messages "lamppost pissing"

9. Obvious Princesses

10. Couples profiles without pics of fellas (even though I am straight, this does annoy me... don't know why)

11. Text Speak

12. People that create long lists about what puts them off ( )

Well technically that means I can accom and travel.

I see "travel" as meaning "outside their immediate area" because unless you're severely obese and can't fit through your front door, or chained to your bed, or you have a desperate fear of the outside, you're gonna be able to get to a hotel. Who would ever really tick "no travel"?

When people say they enjoy travelling or are going travelling, it never occurs to me that they mean just down the road to the nearest hotel.

I know it looks weird in the face of it but it makes sense to me.

i net a couple socially.. They later texted me about half 11 at night, wantingu to meet me after having not 1, cut 2 meets that went wrong. No way .. 3rd. Best option?! Was insulted and said no.

If the profile is specific in what the lady or couple want or don't want then that's fine by me. If I think I am not for them then I won't message.

The bit that puts me off from sending messages is where the profile asks for a polite hello introduction and when you do there's just an instant delete. I know I'm not every lady or couples cup of tea (I'm a rocker, I wear black shirts with spiky writing and have long hair) but a simple thanks fella but you're not for me/us would be welcome as s polite response to a polite message.
