I've managed to get myself into a position where I need to take some pole dancing lessons....

Anyone have any advice on how an older, unfit lady should proceed, or should I give it up as a bad job and stick to knitting?

Don't want to feel a complete granny next to the young fit girls who can leap all over

There is quite a few pole dancing classes for the more mature adults. You would be surprised how many older people male and female do classes. X

Why would you need to be able to pole dance? I would suggest working on upper body strength until you're able to do at least 3 wide grip pull ups on a bar. You'd need to be able to support and lift your own body weight.

It doesn't have to be that brilliant or long term...I've arranged a surprise private pole dance for my partner and I want to have a few extra lessons before the big day?;)

Found a local group now who definitely offer private lessons

Did it for months , it's fun , you will find it more of a keep fit exercise though and you will get a few bruises , you have to do the erotic bit yiurself

in the suffolk countryside

i am doing yoga and burleques first, hoping to move to pole in the autumn..when speaking to the instructor, she said i didnt need to, that the pole increases your strength, thats why you do it..however im finding many daily benefits with the yoga anyway..go, have fun..enjoy and good luck with your 'performance' xx

If you haven't been working out your stomach muscles then I'd suggest you go very carefully or you'll give yourself a hernia. You don't have to do acrobatics on the pole, just be sexy and seductive around it.

Go for it and enjoy having a go

Kaz did a few lessons and it gave her the confidence to go on the poles in the clubs.

Your strength and ability will grow with progression.

I go to to a mixed level and advanced class, we currently have a 63 year old in our advanced one who is just as good as anyone else, so don't let your age put you off. People can learn pole at any age and can have the same amount of difficulty in getting moves.

Or alternatively try privates.

Good luck with your dance

Sinds xx
