All mine this year are going to have to be grown in pots, baskets and containers, as I had to leave my house and move into a small basement flat which has a small courtyard out the back and a larger paved front garden but they both should look beautiful when in full bloom

another garden tip planting large seeds, use the inside of the loo roll, fill with compost, then when the young plants are ready to plant out,you dont disturd the roots as the inner rots down.

and another tip, planting large seed fill a glass with water, leave the seeds 4 a bit, the ones that float to the top wont germinate.

thats all the tips you get lol

one more tip, if you have a problem with cats crapping in garden.

you can use lion dung, but not many lions about.

but what does work, is if you have a male handy get him to pee in a spray bottle and spray on the garden. it does work.

i got 5 cats they dont crap in mine they go next door, dont tell him the tip lol

Fantastic to have Monty back. I am a huge fan of him and his approach to gardening.

It's great that after a stroke the BBC have got him back on board aswell because I feel this sends a very positive message to people who have suffered a stroke.

Good gardening all!!

It definitly is a proven fact,

i used to work in customer service for a company that makes and supplies compost bins and associated products, and that ir part of the advice given

If anyone thinking of buying a compost bin (or water butt) do not buy from yoru local DIY store,

speak to your local council (enviromental department) for compost bins, a lot of them subsidise them heavily (although wioth teh cuts it may not be available for long

For water butts speak to whoever you pay your water bill to, they sometiem shave a scheme going

indeed, and cover it with a palstic tarpaulin in winter keep the heat in it, needs heat to keep the process going (it generates its own heat)

also dont expect a fine potting compost from a bin, the stuff you get is more a dig into the soil mulch

And the longer you wait the more it decomposes down thats why two bins are better
